Announced months ago but final production ending in early April. Another PM shop will close its doors. This PM plant was supposed to be critically located to provide PM parts to German auto makers that took up residence in the Carolinas in the early 1990’s. Even more so than American Auto Companies, BMW and Mercedes now will rely even more heavily on Turkish, Indian and Chinese PM for their production globally. A continued sign of the times…..close, consolidate, and off-shore to more cost effective options. No end in sight to this on-going trend.
